Explosive Designs is proud to announce that they have been nominated for two awards in the York Press Business of the Year Awards 2010 – Small Business of the Year and Business Personality of the Year.
In two years Explosive Designs located at Westminster Business Centre in Great North Way, York, has earned its claim to be not only one of the leading web design companies in the North but one of the fastest growing small businesses in the York area.
The success of the business stems from 31 year old managing director, James Riley’s foresight as the economic downturn resulted in a host of start-up companies search for cheap web design solutions as a way of attracting new business.
“Whilst I have always been focused on web development I changed my focus as the credit crunch kicked in, targeting start-up companies and businesses looking for great value web solutions to help generate more business,” explains Riley.
“Whilst our web offering was exactly what many businesses nationwide were requiring, finding a niche in the market isn’t enough for sustained growth and long term success. We have continuously worked hard for our clients ensuring the best customer service and ensuring we develop long-term relationships with these businesses. In some cases we have grown with our clients which has helped the growth of Explosive Designs significantly.”
Following a great first year Explosive Designs experienced 65 per cent growth in year two and employed two young York designers, moved into smart offices and set about attracting more than 40 clients largely through word-of-mouth acclaim. The York Press Business of the Year nominations are the culmination of two years hard work for the Explosive Designs team.
“We are delighted with this recognition from the York Press and it will be interesting to see how we go up against some fantastic businesses from a variety of industries in the area. However, our feet are firmly planted on the ground and complacency is never an issue here at Explosive Designs as we continuously research and implement new and innovative ways to help businesses grow through their digital offering.”
